School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi organized
Hi-Life Lecture Series where Rev. Patrick
McCollum, Patrick Foundation, USA along with
Dr. Harriet Nettles, Educational Psychologist
interacted with PGDM Students and Faculty members.
Addressing students under Hi-Life Guest Lecture series;
Dr. Harriet Nettles said that physical and psychological
fitness goes side-by-side. She has emphasized on the
need of Yoga in fast moving lifestyle. She also made
the students to recall that India is the birth place
of Yoga.
In the next part of the series Rev. Patrick McCollum
shared about the plenty of problems in the corporate
world and their possible solutions with sound value
based practices. In this area he has appreciated team
of SMS Varanasi about their value based systems and
teachings to its students. While addressing the students,
he motivated them by saying that they have the power
and opportunity to make the difference in the present
world. Further he suggested the students that to attain
success and rise up in their career, they need not
have to suppress other competitors, on the contrary
they should try to improve their level of efforts
and innovation. He said that, “By treating every
stakeholder along with customer in the rightful manner
you can be successful. Don’t just follow money,
execute your work in a good manner, otherwise it will
be an endless struggle for more and more money”.
He has highlighted that happiness is not directly
related to more and more resources; actually it is
the result of ethical behaviour followed by a person,
while leading his life and doing his work.
Earlier, Dr. Sanjay Saxena, Associate
Professor, SMS welcomed the guests and expressed his
thankfulness to Rev. Patrick & Dr. Nettles for
their valuable time. At the end, Mr. Sandeep
Singh, Associate Professor, SMS proposed
Vote of Thanks and appreciated his dream as shared
by Rev. Patrick’ “ Before I die, global
peace takes place”. Dr. Meenakshi Singh,
Senior Lecturer, SMS coordinated the session and Mr.
Anindo Bhattacharjee, Lecturer, SMS ensured
the presence of Guests at SMS Varanasi.
