One Week Online Workshop on "Discovering Statistics through EXCEL and SPSS”
School of Management Sciences, Varanasi has successfully conducted, One Week online workshop on "Discovering Statistics through EXCEL and SPSS" between 22nd of June to 28th of June 2020. The key resource person for the workshop was Prof.G.P.Singh.(Professor, Institute of Science BHU). Another resource person for the Workshop was Prof.Rakesh Pandey (Professor, Department of Psychology, BHU).
The workshop trained the participants in various statistical methods and data analysis techniques such as regression, correlation, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, etc. through hands-on experience of solving statistical problems using specialized statistical packages – MS Excel and SPSS. Prof. Singh also introduced the basics of statistics, its application, and use in day to day business practices. Various concepts like statistical measurements and scaling, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing, measures of central tendency, etc. were discussed at length. Finally, the workshop participants also witnessed a detailed explanation of correlation and regression analyses and their importance with respect to business research, followed by problem-solving using MS Excel and SPSS. The session ended with Prof. Singh addressing participants queries regarding the concepts and techniques he dealt with during a week online workshop.
The entire event was moderated by Dr.Sofia Khan, and Back end support was given by Mr.Veeresh Tripathi. The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Kartikeya Singh Assistant Professor, School of Management Sciences Varanasi.
