Youth ki baat

Next month we are going to celebrate Nation Youth Day. Let’s see what we can learn from it. Like every year,  next year  also National Youth Day will be celebrated  on 12th January on  the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He was a great thinker and gave the idea of a real youth. In a country with 45% of young population it becomes crucial to talk about youth. Youth is that part of society which is most active and productive.  A youth is a person from 15 year to 24 year, it is such age in which one can either build one’s life or destroy it. It is a golden part of a persons life which lays path of a better future. Every year on National Youth Day, programs are organized for students, like songs, dance, debates or sports activities in schools, colleges, universities and other places. People are retold  the principles of Swami Vivekananda. Here, we will try see what are the problems of todays youth and what should be a manifesto or life planning of a youth. You might have heard your elders say that there was no one to guide us so we could do much in our life but had been given opportunities like you, we would have been somewhere else, in a better situation. If you can correlate to this, then this article is for you. Todays youth :- 1) Mobile Addiction : Todays youth is so much addicted to mobile that they do not take  food properly and spend excessive time on games and over social media. This, not only causes health problem but also makes one less social. 2) Drugs : Drug consumption is a very serious problem with youngsters. Wine and smoking is not in drug category according to them. The drug list starts with heavy consumption of injections, powder drugs, or inhaling drugs. But, the reality is that the habit of consuming such harmful substances start from drinking and smoking only. According to a statistics at least one member in each family in Punjab consumes drugs. This is very shocking news. 3) Love issues It is seen that todays youth is also subjected to love relationship problems. Many students even attempt crime or harm themselves in such cases. Generation gap between children and parents has made this issue more serious. So, it is very important to know about the psychology or feelings and emotions of person to solve their problems. 4) Morally Weak : Many people complain that todays youth is morally weak. They do not give much respect to their teachers and older. This problem has many reasons like children are exposed to all good and bad content in internet and through television. People now mostly live in nuclear family and so on. This problem can be fixed only if parents give time to their children and help them built their social skills and behaviour. 5) Juvenile Crime The rate of Juvenile crimes have been increasing year by year. This is subjected to environment given to youth and the distance of parents and children. 6) Suicide Tendency : Owing to cut throat  competition it is also seen that many youngsters commit suicide. Every year we hear cases of suicide from Engineering colleges and other institutions with high study pressure. Even board students also commit suicide due to high pressure to getting high grades. What is a youth? A youth is an class which is very enthusiastic and dreams to conquer the  world through knowledge. Todays youth has to remember that this life is one and very  precious. So, instead of wasting time of mobiles one has to be time bound. Other than that drug menace is a big issue of youth and it is to be addressed by parents and the society. If everyone come together to solve this problem and if proper rules are made to check drug flow in market then this problem can be fixed. What makes you a youth? Your strength of  working hard and dreaming to serve people make you a youth. Some qualities of a youth are as below:- 1) Hardworking : Youth are hardworking and never postpones work on tomorrow. They never give up and learn from their failure. They have indomitable will to make their dream come true. 2) Dreamer : A youth is full of dream, full of aspirations.  They are ready to accept challenges. 3) Energy : A youths enthusiasm is amazing it helps him to be more efficient in work. 4) Punctuality : A real youth is very strict of time as this is what determines his future. 5) Respect everyone : A real youth respects everyone and realizes that whatever they are today it is because of blessings of elders and older. 6) Vision : Have a roadmap for life and world because great vision make great people. 7) Why? : A youngster  is one who is very curious and rational. To question is the best quality of your. 8) Proactive :  A youngster does not give in to circumstances rather a youth builds opportunities and solutions. 9) Creativity : A young brain is very creative and has potent of creative talent. 10) Never Die Attitude : A real youngster never gives up rather learns from failure and stands up again. This National Youth Day make a plan for your life, decide what you want to become in life and buckle your belts up  to work hard. As it is truly said, "Dream doesnt become true through magic, it takes sweat, determination and hardwork." This is the manifesto of youth, to build a nation of their dream, to make India touch heights of glory. The future of every nation is on the hands of youth, so it becomes a very important entity of the society.  The day is not far when we will make the dream of Swai Vivekananda to make India Vishwa Guru.  Besides that his life teaches us how spirituality can shape our lives and build our character. In this world of confusion and quarrels his teaching are like light towards a right path. His ideas are relevant even today and it is the legacy of great people like him which made India such a wonderful place. If we give a right direction to our youth, we can use the potential of our nation to its best extend and make dream India of Swami Vivekananda. At last, I would leave you with  words of Swami Vivekananda, "Arise, awake and stop not until the goal is reached." Gook luck
