Board Exams Strategy

10th and 12th grades are considered as one of the most important phases of a students life. When I entered in 10th grade, my teacher said, "This is your first step towards shaping your life."  After school, most of my time was occupied in tuitions of Chemistry, Maths and Physics. High grades, as the parents say, " was the only expectation from me" . Like me there were many students who had to pay high tuition fee over the school fee owing to growing cut throat competition. The games periods were taken by other teachers to cover their syllabus. Evening games became forgotten thing. Practical files, vivas, pre-boards and tuition tests occupied  life, time was hectic indeed. First  coming to 10th board exams. I recall those days and find it was not much difficult in comparison to 12th board exams for the syllabus was less. But, I have seen many students who fainted in the examination hall in 10th board exams. Even I had to ask a glass of water in one exam. But, when I look back to those days, I think, I was unnecessarily nervous  because contrary to me there were many of my friends who used to play in the evening, studied at night and performed 90+ in exams. But of course they also studied at night. Thats why I say, "10th board exams are not tough as it seems. There is just a psychological pressure that works in those day." So the question arises, how to fix this problem but before coming to let me come to the situation of 12th grade board students. 12th grade board exams are drastically different from 10th grade exams. In 10th grade high percentage is expected to get admission in best school and now the endeavors are to get enrolled in good universities or crack NDA or NEET or JEE and owing to such humongous expectation or aspiration the pressure become bigger. So, now the question arises how to be more confident and plan  for board exams to come up with flying colours. 1) Meditation : Take a deep breath, you are not in any trouble. Wake up early in the morning and mediate for few minutes. You will find positive energy in yourself.  Getting good marks in board exams is just a matter of sincerity and discipline. Be cool headed and look at board exams as opportunity rather than burden. 2) Timetable : Once, I went to a rent room of a girl who got selected in UPSC exams. I saw a schedule pasted on the almirah. I was told by the owner that she used to compensate with the time killed in day by adding one more hour to night or by reducing an hour sleep. 3) Three F Strategy : F1 stands for Focus. It implies make yourself comfortable at a place and focus on the present activity i.e. Study.  F2 stands for Find. It implies find the text you have to study and make a rough sketch in your mind of how many topics are you going to cover. F3 stands for Fill. Then the time comes to practice your work. Always remember practice makes a man perfect. 4)Make Notes: Make notes in class, use high lighters where ever required and make it fare so that it can be used during exams. 5) Target Module : Draw a target module for your syllabus and make yourself time bound to complete it. 6) Syllabus Centric : Some books suggested by boards have unnecessary competitive material which has nothing to do with board exam. So, be selective while going through books. 7) Mind Maps : Use figures, flow charts,  tables or acronyms to understand the topic. It will make study more interesting and easy to retain for long time. 8) Slam Cards : Use slam cards to remember dates or  named reactions in chemistry. 9) Take Breaks : Take small breaks during study to recharge yourself and have a healthy diet because a health body carries a healthy mind. 10) Competitive Exams : To be genuine, people who score 90 or 95 plus in board exams do not prepare for competitive along with it. So, make a choice whether you want high grades in board exams and  leave the idea of competitive exam or get average marks in boards and crack competitive exams. What To Keep In Mind While Appearing For Exams? 1) Be Relaxed : Flipping pages of book at eleventh hour can not lead top grades. So, be relaxed. Take a deep breath and go to exam hall. 2) Read All The Instructions : Read all the instruction on the booklet provided to you. Unlike home exams, board exam booklets or answer sheets are different so read all the details. Also read all the instructions mentioned on the question paper before writing. 3) Be Alert : Be alert while writing your enrollment number because without it you make me taken otherwise or there might be problem in result. 4) Choice : Give 5 minutes after the bell rings to read the question paper thoroughly . Use the question you have best confidence in. 5) Be Careful: Write Correct serial number in the answer sheet. In objective question write complete answer instead of mentioning just the serial number of the correct option. E.G. If a question is like, name the compound which is corrosive in nature. And you have three options with you say, a) H2SO4 b) H2O c) NaCl. In this case right the serial no. of correct answer along with the correct answer. 6) No Malpractice : Do not use chits, electronic items or any source of mal practice in examination, it can cause termination. 7) Use Ball Pens : In most of the board exams ball pen blue/black as per suggested are ought to be used. 8) In Maths : Dont waste much time if you are unable to solve one question. Dont give more than a second attempt to a single question. 9) Hangover : Dont let bad performance in one exam affect your another exam. 10) Study Daily : Be persistent in your work and success will kiss your feet one day. Board exam is not a burden but a celebration to get a key of new life . It is the first addition to our resume and plays a very important role in a persons life. My teachers used to say, "getting good marks is exams is an art". Yes, it is an art, an art of a systematic preparation, an art to handle examination pressure, an art to manage time in the examination and an art to learn to toil. I wish every board student all the very best. Be relaxed and follow the above lessons. I am sure it will help you in better performance. Good Luck
