Top 9 Work Values Employers Look For!

The funny thing about job advertisements that they only show you half the story. They try to tell you that the employer is only looking for someone with a very specific set of skills. This is true but only to an extent. There are a lot of personality traits that the company doesnt mention on the listing. This is done so you dont have time to prepare yourself accordingly and have all the right answers. This is where the Interviews come into play as they bring out your all your features, good and bad both. So, lets take a look at some of the values that employers do look for without mentioning it in the ad.

9. Strong Work ethichs

Every employers wants their employees to have willingness to work hard, hard work has their own limitations in the era of artificial intelligence, we need to work hard, organizations are keep adapting new tools and technology to make the process easier and smoother, so smart work is more important too, combination of both will bring best out of you.

There is a mantra you need to follow throughout your life "Always Deliver more than expected" it is a good way to show your management that how you are good at time management and you dont waste time while doing your work!

8. Self – Motivated
Employers always look for self-motivated employees, with a little supervision once a self-motivated employee understand his/her responsibilities they do their work timely and in a professional manner.

A employer should offer safe, supportive work environment where an employee will learn and grow.

7. Responsible

Now, this is something pretty self-explanatory. It is not hard to predict that your employer will always appreciate it if you always took responsibility for your work. See, you will find hundreds of employees trying to pin their mistakes on something or the other. In contrast, you will find very few who will be ready to own up to their work and accept the praise and criticism that comes along with it.

6. Proactive

Unfortunately, a lot of people take this trait in the wrong direction. Being proactive doesnt mean that you be on your employers beck and call the whole day. It just means not waiting for instructions to arrive by themselves. Dont wait for the person in authority to get back at you according to their convenience. Take charge and for it yourself only. Another thing you can try out is asking questions in an interview. Remember, the manager will always appreciate it if you show interest in the work in any way possible.

5. Ambitious

A person without ambition is someone that nobody wants to hire. This is because the companies want to see applicants who want to go to places, not just be stuck in one position only. Take initiative in any manner possible. Just show your boss that you are not afraid to reach where they are one day. The employers will always go for someone ambitious enough to show them this side of themselves as well rather than someone without any ambition.

4. Independent

Now there some operations at work where you do need clear and concise instructions to proceed. That is not always the case though. At times where you are dealing with something familiar, try tackling it on your own instead of wanting your boss to hand hold you. This always shows the employers that you are ready to take on some serious responsibility and their work is left in responsible and reliable hands.

3. Aware of their Strengths

This again is one of the things that people usually fail to practice at work. Employees are often afraid of listing their strengths as they never want to come across as overconfident or over smart. What people forget is that there is a fine line between sounding snobbish and sounding boring. Always remember to play up your strengths in front of an employer. Now, nobody is telling you to lie or dress up the truth a bit. Just stick to your real strengths and work them as hard as you can.

2. Acceptable of New Things

First of all, nobody like working with someone rigid and unadaptable. One of the most important things the employers look for is a person who is not closed to new possibilities. Hence, trying out new things and practices in a workplace is not such a bad thing. You know what would they appreciate even more? If you came up with something new along with being open to trying it out. Remember, its all about taking initiative. Its just a bonus when you suggest something new.

1. Know where they want their Careers to go

Finally, this is one thing that every employer will always consider before hiring anyone. This is due to the fact that companies like hiring people who are clear about they want in their professional life. Any employer would rather hire someone who knows where they stand (even if its undefined) instead of someone without a clear vision (but a lot of experience). Therefore, you should make a vision plan before sitting in an interview. This is so you will have some clarity about your career that you will be able to show in the interview as well.

That was the list guys. Im sure the traits I mentioned above are the ones that almost all the employees forget or neglect time to time. As a result, they dont receive the acclaim they deserve. I want you all to remember that you cannot master all of them overnight. Start from something that you feel like will come naturally to you. Compare them with your already present traits and see where you are lacking and where you are solid. Above all, just take initiative because, in my opinion, great things only come to those who dont wait.
