SMS Varanasi signs Academic Pact with Claflin University

Known for imparting quality education SMS with its brand image
has signed a bi-lateral academic agreement at International
level with the well known Claflin University of U.S.A. This
agreement has been signed with a purpose to establish a long
term mutually beneficial partnership in academic areas. Claflin
University is situated in the State of South Carolina in the
U.S.A. Claflin University is an independent, co-educational,
residential, career oriented University and continuous to
be an internationally highly ranked leader in providing excellent
teaching and research within a beautiful campus setting. It
has got a historic 43 acre campus located in Orangeburg, South
Carolina 40 miles South of Columbia. The institution has a
diverse student body and ample research and internship opportunities.
The University provides an integrative environment i.e. conducive
to learning for a culturally and ethically diverse student’s
population. Forbes has ranked Claflin University as one of
the best colleges in U.S.A. based on education offered to
students, No. of alumni, graduation rates and internally acclaimed
faculties. With presence in more than 24 states across 15
countries. It is an acronym of quality education and excellent
academic delivery system.
On this evidence it can be claimed that the University is

This academic agreement with Claflin University has been inked
considering the various key areas. To acclimatize students
with quality in management education and management system
of international standard SMS signed an important document
of Memorandum of Understanding with Claflin University which
covers all the long term mutually beneficial partnership areas.
With this agreement SMS Varanasi becomes the member of few
academic Institutes which have an academic partnership in
India at International level.
The important points which are covered in the MOU are –
Both the institutes would consider and implement Faculty and
Student Exchange Programmes in accordance with existing government
and accreditation policy, both institutes will cooperate in
the area of training and capacity building at the partner
institution as much as possible, both institutes will encourage
collaboration amongst faculty in areas of research and curriculum
development. The other important point which is covered in
the agreement is that both the institutes will collaborate
in other areas as feasible on issues in relation to higher
education.
The agreement which is beneficial for students and the
academic feternity was signed on 10th August, 2009. This
bi-lateral academic agreement with American University is
due to the conscious and sincere efforts of Dr. M. P. Singh,
Executive Secretary, SMS, Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS,
Varanasi and Dr. Amit Gautam, Associate Professor, SMS,
Varanasi.
In accordence with above mentioned agreement following
students of SMS, Varanasi have visited Claflin University,
South Carolina, USA for their Business Internship under
Student Exchange Program:
