Webinar on Career Prospects in General Insurance
School of Management Sciences, Varanasi organized a webinar on "Career Prospects in General Insurance" for its postgraduate students. The key resource person was Ms. Rachana Bhatia Cluster Manager-Institutional Sales, Liberty General Insurance Ltd Mumbai, and Mr. Abu Osama BDM-Commercial & SME Chola MS General Insurance Corporation Mumbai. They both are alumni of SMS Varanasi completed their PDGM in the year 2009-2011 and 2010-2012.
In this webinar students learned about the insurance industry, the governing body for monitoring this industry. As the insurance business in India is booming, the number of career opportunities in this sector has increased with the participation of private players as well as multinationals. It is therefore desirable to embark on sound knowledge in this field in mathematics, commerce, statistics, computers, and English. It is expected that candidates will have or develop a thorough understanding of the money, finance, market, and insurance businesses.
