Different MBA Entrance Exams in India and Tips to help you.

Masters in Business Administration is widely becoming a popular course around the world. Various entrance exams are conducted across the country each year, for a seat in a prestigious institute across the world.  The qualification needed for all the examinations is a Bachelors degree. After experiencing the corporate culture, as an employee people are bent towards seeing themselves as an Entrepreneur.   Exam Syllabus: All MBA Entrance Exam syllabus share some common topics like Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation. Some have added sections according to their criteria.   Below is the list of important entrance exams conducted:   1.CAT: Common Admission Test Its the most popular entrance exams in India, computer-based tests. Conducted in November every year by IIMs.  The test is designed in a way to test the candidates quantitative, verbal ability, reading comprehension, data interpretation, logical reasoning skills.  Registration for the exam is done in August, the results are announced in January. The CAT marks are valid for a year. CAT official website: www.iimcat.ac.in   2.MAT: Management Aptitude Test MAT exam is handled by the All India Management Association.  The exam is designed to test the candidates language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, critical reasoning and global environment.  Candidates can either attempt pen-paper based exam or computer-based exam according to their comfort.  Registration for the exam begins around December.  The exam is conducted between January and February, results are announced in the first week of March. MAT score is valid for one year. MAT official website: www.aima-ind.org   3.GMAT: Graduate Management Admission Test It is a computer adaptive test intended to assess the candidates analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for enrollment.  The advantage of this exam over the first two is that its score is valid for 5 years.  Also, candidates can select from a pool of available dates to give the exam. The exam is conducted 5-6 times around a year. GMAT official website: www.gmac.com   4.SNAP: Symbiosis National Aptitude Test It is a national level aptitude test conducted for admission to all Post Graduate Management Programs offered by Symbiosis Institute. Registration is done in August and the examination is conducted in December. The results are published in the first week of January.  Paper consists of questions based on General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Logical & Analytical Reasoning are different sections on which the candidates are tested.  One of the major disadvantages of this test is that it consists of a negative marking scheme. SNAP Official website:www.snaptest.org   5.NMAT: Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test NMAT is conducted by the Narsee Monjee Educational Trust for securing a seat at the NMIMS University.  It is a computer-based test. The examination includes topics like Language Skills; Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, and Logical Reasoning.  Candidates can appear thrice during a 72-day window period, and their best score will be considered for admission. Registration is done in July and the exam takes place from October to December. NMAT official website: www.nmat.org.in   6.MAH CET: Maharashtra MBA Common Entrance Test Conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.  It is again a computer-based test. The syllabus comprises of English language, reasoning, and general knowledge awareness.  The exam is usually conducted in the second week of March.  The results are announced by the end of March, which is followed by counseling. The MAH CET scores are only applicable to the MBA colleges present in Maharashtra. The scores are only valid for a year. MAHCET official Website: www.mahacet.org   7.XAT: Xavier Aptitude Test XLRI institute conducts XAT. It is a computer-based test. The test is divided into two sections.  Section 1 consists of Quantitative Ability, English language & Logical reasoning.  Section 2 consists of GK and essay writing.   3. Give a lot of online mock tests.
  4. Try solving previous year question papers.
  5. Improve English language proficiency.
  6. While solving, mock tests keep an eye on the time and solve as many questions as accurately as possible.
