How To Get A Passport?

  What is a passport? Want to travel world, here is what you must have before getting anything else that is your Passport. A passport as many of us must be knowing is a travel document generally issued by a country’s government that certifies the identity and nationality of its holder primarily for the purpose of international travel. How to get a passport ? The ways to get a passport are broadly divided into three parts:- 1) Fill online form for registration:- Source:- Passport Seva Online Portal 10 steps  to get fill a passport form Step 1: Go to Passport Seva Online portal. This is authentic website of Indian government other websites suggested by people or any other source  are not right. Step 2:- Here you can get registered for passport. Step 3:- A form will appear in front of you. The first option in it will be  ‘Register To Apply At’  with two options:- a) CVP Delhi b) Passport office CVP stands for  Consular, Passport and Visa, Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Common citizens should click on passport office option. Step 4:- Second option is to choose the Passport Office, here is list of cities here. Tibetan Refugees applying for Identity Certificate must register with Delhi Passport Office. Step 5:- Next option is enter name, surname without initials and honorifics e.g Dr., Col.etc. Step 6:- In next option you have to generate an ID and password. Followed by hint questions and character entry box and click on register option. Step 7:- Click "Apply for Background Verification for GEP" link. Background verification for GEP is a miscellaneous service provided via Passport Seva System to conduct vetting of the Passport and Police/Criminality check for Indian Citizens willing to enrol for U.S. CBP Global Entry Program (GEP).If you have applied for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) GEP, you will have to apply for background verification for GEP via Passport Seva System to obtain clearance from Regional Passport Office within whose jurisdiction you currently reside. Step 8:- Fill the required details in the form and submit. Step 9:- Now, select the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment. Modes Of Online Payment : Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa) Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks and Other Banks. Step 10:- Finally, click the "Print Application Receipt" link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number. 2) Go to Regional Passport Office:- Go to the passport office you choose while registration through online form. 3) Police Verification:-  A form will be provided from Regional Passport Office which one has to submit to regional police station within 7 days .The police verifies the documents and even visits house to verify address. After this a form is to submitted in the police station which is forwarded to other authorities  and later the passport gets issued.   Source:- Passport Seva Online Portal. The passport is dispatched by India Post through Speed Post to the present address of the applicant. In urgency it can be received from the Regional Passport Office.
