72nd Independence Day Celebrations @ SMS Varanasi

‘Five basic features of Indian Constitution- Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic’ were recalled by Prof. P.N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi on 72nd Independence Day celebration at SMS Varanasi. Independence Day is the festival for entire India and celebrated to remember its freedom from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation on 15th August 1947. Independence Day, on 15th August, 2018, the most pious and auspicious occasion was celebrated by SMS Varanasi with zeal and enthusiasm. After flag hoisting ceremony, Prof. Jha presented his tribute towards the Indian freedom fighters. He discussed the significance of independence and discussed about importance of equality in our democratic system. He said that he is hopeful that in coming days better equality among states will be established by the Government. He also commented on India’s economic performance and discussed about fluctuations in global and Indian GDP. He also expressed his thankfulness towards Indian defense services for safeguarding Indian boundaries.

Students had presented series of programs on various themes related to India’s Independence through cultural programs by students of classes BBA, BCA, B.Com PGDM, MBA & MCA batches. Events was coordinated by faculty and staff members with Dr. Pallavi Pathak, Associate Professor of the institute. Snacks were given to the students and staff members. Afterward plantation activity took place in presence of Prof. P.N. Jha and Registrar Sri Sanjay Gupta.
