Tips while siting in campus placement

When it comes to campus placement, or actually any interview, you should not risk yourself. You should be prepared for it, So here are the following things you should look into:

  1. Who you are- When you preparing yourself for an interview, you should make sure about the basic question that can be hitten up on you – Who you are. One should know about their key strengths which they can later on exaggerate in the interview and the weak points which can be overcomed by your hard work which later on can turn up to be your bigger strengths. Well as it is the most common question asked in an interview, one should be confident enough to describe himself or herself out of the box. Not just that, more and more questions would be put on, on your self-description, so one should be smart enough to answer them without hesitation. Confidence is the key point in an interview, if you can’t define your own self in confidence, you can lose the opportunity, so make sure you speak up boldly.
  2. Gestures and postures: While giving an interview, there are some basic guidelines like the way you sit, the way you greet someone, actually it starts from the way you enter the room and ends with when you exit your room. Every manner of yours is being looked after by the interviewer. Not just that but even the way you pull your chair or drag it (which is a bad sign) is also keenly observed. So make sure before you enter the room, you knock the door and ask for the full permission to go inside, then until unless the interviewer has told you to sit, do not have a seat, make sure you implement the right gestures according to the conversation, and also your sitting posture should be straight enough to make you look all confident. While you are reading all this, you would be thinking of it as lame stuff, but these lame stuff will only help you get a job!
  3. Subjects: When it comes to campus placements, the interviewer expects from you to have certain knowledge of the subjects you have studied up till now. So he or she might put you in a conversation by asking a few questions on the basis of the subjects the institute has served you. They can even ask you if you have any favorite subject and would back fire you on the basis of your choice or would interest you with many questions related to that subject.
  4.  Documents and Resume: Resume is basically a little written description on yourself. A resume should be made as such, so that the person sitting in front of you, would be willing to interest you with a job. Your resume should be clean, clear and precise. It should define you in the best way. You can jot down all your experiences that you have gathered from the internships and trainings, your skills, your qualifications, your hobbies, etc. Not just that, but whenever you are heading towards an interview make sure you have all the documents with you, like the DMC of 10th and 12th class, aadhar card, voter card, 2 passport sized photographs, etc. or any specific ones that are asked. This shows that you are organized and alert.
  5. 5. Aptitude Tests: if there is an aptitude test, then it might be a hurdle to you. But don’t get so upset as you can pass the hurdle by jumping on it, i.e. the aptitude test might include logic and reasoning, data interpretation, analytical and quantitative skills, written communication, subject knowledge, etc. So start practicing from before. This test can be tricky. To prepare for it, you can google aptitude test and find a bunch of links where you could practice yourself and prepare for it.
  6. GD (the group discussion): Group discussion is basically when all the candidates are sitting together in a hall, and a topic has been picked up and you need to share your viewpoints upon it. Sometimes, the interviewer can ask you to begin. Make sure you raise a lot of points. Some group discussions are even such, when the interviewer itself gives a topic to speak on, for example: share your views on under the sun, now when you hear it you get all confused and messed up for what to say, but basically all you have to say is anything that comes under the sun, like globalisation, Earth, Corruption, Politics, etc. cause if you carefully understand the topic, it is what it is said, anything under the sun. So basically through group discussion the interviewer checks on how smart you are and how sharp you are. So to prepare yourself for Group Discussion you should go through some facts and be aware of what’s going on around the globe at present.
  7. Research on the company: Have a keen research on the company you are giving an interview for. You should be aware of some basic tactics that you could take help of later in the conversation and mold them as a fire back informative solution. You can Google Search the company and gather all the information that you think you should know about the enterprise. Not just that but also search on the role models who are leading in the company. Make sure that you are clear or that you know the job description, if not, then you must know about the job description before the interview so that you won’t make a fool to yourself. Search the job position/ designation thoroughly. And prepare yourself for the personal interview.
  8. Appearance: A job interview is a serious matter of fact. So you make sure that your appearance should be decent in front of the interviewer. One should wear formals when it comes to an interview. Properly dressed puts a good impression in front of the interviewer, it shows that you take things seriously. Some students randomly give the interviews in jeans or in very informal clothes, I must tell you that interview is not a joke, it’s a thing that gets you a job, and job gets you your career. So you should always look good and wear proper formal clothes, like white shirt, black pant, black skirt, formal shoes, plain black heels, blazer/ coat, etc. one should be well-dressed with it comes to interview.
  9. Personal Interview: A personal interview is in which they judge you in every kind, generally more than one person is sitting in front of you, out of which one judges your answers psychologically. Make sure you answer confidently. And do not interrupt the interviewer, or else it shows that you are a bad listener. Personal interview is based on your personality, for if you stand out from the others or not, and if get selected will stand the company as well out from others.
  10. Enjoy: If you panic during or before an interview, it might ruin it. So don’t get all fuzzy, and scared. Just be you and enjoy. You will just have an interview with a person, i.e. a conversation, the interviewer won’t eat you so do not get scared. Stay relaxed and calm this will put a nice impression. So stay prepared, stay confident, be polite and positive. And in the end, just BE YOU and Enjoy.
