Seven days FDP programme

Seven days FDP programme on Pedagogical Approach and Content Management in Professional Education & Research organized by SMS, Varanasi was concluded on Wednesday, 12th July, 2017 in its Khushipur Campus.

Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session, Prof. Azhar Kazmi (King Fahad University, Saudi Arabia) congratulated the institute for organizing such programmes on regular basis, which he observed becoming lower in priority among B-Schools. He also appreciated the coverage of the topic and interest of the participant, coming from various institutes of Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted the changing roles and responsibilities of faculties in the present era of technology where abundant of information is available to both teacher and students. He emphasized on the need of innovation in teaching style and pedagogy. He elaborated the participants to walk an extra mile beyond the books and to use the resources available judiciously. Further, he mentioned that he has developed a special bonding with SMS, Varanasi because of his association with the institute and regular part of various programmes..

 

Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi and Programme Director of FDP in his welcome address, reminded that gone are the days when teaching was assumed to be the last resort in career. Now the expectations of various stakeholders have undergone a pragmatic metamorphosis, so a teacher must become competent in his delivery and personality as a whole. To excel ln the profession, he stressed the need for inculcating a habit of commitment and passion for learning, among faculty members.

Earlier, Dr. Avinash Chandra Supkar presented the summary report of the seven days programme. He presented the proceedings of all the technical sessions, key learnings & the outcomes. He stated that there were twelve sessions deliberated by various eminent & famous people in their respective fields. The speakers included Prof. Pramod Pathak (Prof. & Head, IIT-Dhanbad), Prof. M. A. Usmani (Former Principal, ICCMRT, Lucknow), Prof. M. S. Pandey (English Deptt. BHU), Prof. Zeeshan Amir (Director, GDAMS, Mirzapur), and Prof. Harikesh Singh (VC, J.P. University, Chhapra). Later in the session, Mrs. Neetu Ranjan Aggarwal, Mr. Rajat K. Lal as a participants shared their experience and learning.

Vote of thanks was presented by Programme Convener, Dr. Alok Kumar. The Valedictory Session was coordinated by Programme Coordinator, Dr. Pallavi Pathak. On this occasion, Executive Secretary Dr. M. P. Singh and Registrar of the institute Mr. Sanjay Gupta were also present.
