26th January 1950 is one of the most important
days in Indian history as it was on this day the constitution
of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign
state. On this day India became an absolutely republican
unit. SMS Varanasi celebrated this 62nd Republic Day
with much enthusiasm and pleasure. With the conventional
Flag hoisting ceremony, Director of the institute Prof
P.N.Jha, initiated the program. In his inaugural dialogue
he has emphasized on achievements of Country in previous
sixty two years. Prof Jha has also discussed about the
contribution of SMS Varanasi in building top class Leader
Managers as its input for nation building.
Apart from this primary activity, another important
event was Cricket Match between Faculty Members, Staff
Members Vs. Students of SMS Varanasi. Director of
institute initiated this activity, in presence of
Executive Secretary Dr. M.P.Singh and senior faculty
and staff members. Faculties, Staff members and students
enjoyed the Cricket Match. Student’s team won
the cricket match.
Moreover winners of SMS-MAT Competition have been
awarded for their excellent performances. Start-up
of new entity has also been witnessed by the name
Shatra SMS NGO. This NGO has been initiated by SMS
Students, under flagship of PGDM-Ist semester students,
with the objective of attaining social welfare goals.
For collecting needed revenue to initiate activities
of NGO, few games have also been organized by organizing
student’s team.
