
26th January 1950 is
one of the most important days in Indian history as it was
on this day the constitution of India came into force and
India became a truly sovereign state. In this day India
became a totally republican unit. SMS Varanasi celebrated
this 61st Republic Day with much enthusiasm and pleasure.
With the conventional Flag hoisting ceremony, Director of
the institute Prof P.N.Jha, initiated the program. In his
inaugural dialogue he has emphasized on achievements of
Country in previous sixty one years. Prof Jha has also discussed
about the contribution of SMS Varanasi in building top class
Leader Managers as its input for nation building.
Apart
from this chief activity, plenty of other important events
have also taken place in premises of SMS. Free medical camp
became the foremost activity. This activity was successful
with the services of Dr. Manoj Kumar, MBBS, M.D. (BHU),
Consulting Doctor Shivganga Hospital & Director of the
Shivganga Hospital, Varanasi. They had given medical assistance
including blood test to all the staff members, faculties
and students of SMS Varanasi. They had also given consultancy
to few outsiders, who visited the SMS for said purpose.
Moreover for making environment more pleasant and healthy
plantation activity has also been organized at SMS. Director
of institute initiated this activity, in presence of Executive
Secretary Dr. M.P.Singh and senior faculty members. Faculties
and students followed this activity of plantation. Lastly
a fifteen over cricket match has also been organized between
Faculties (including staff members) and Students of the
institute. Student’s team won the cricket match.
