The five day Sports Fest concluded at the grounds of School
of Management Sciences (SMS) campus here on Thursday amidst
a promising note to hold an interinstitutional event sometime
in December this year. Over 10 teams representing different
UG and PG programmes participated in the six-event extravaganza
covering sporting activities in three indoor and three outdoor
games, viz, Chess, Carrom and Table-Tennis (Indoor), Cricket,
Badminton and Volleyball (Outdoor).
 The
Winners after several rounds of preliminary matches, quarter-finals,
semi-finals and finals declared included Anubhav Kumar Prasad
of MCA Third Semester (Chess), Manish Yadav of PGDM First
Semester and Nupur Biswas of PGDM Third Semester (both Table
Tennis), Kunwar Shailendra Srivastava of MCA Fifth Semester
(Carrom), Mr. Akshat Tulsyan, BBA-III (Badminton Boys) and
Ms. Hema Yadav, PGDM-IB Ist semester (Badminton Girls) Team
of BBA Third Semester (Volleyball) and the player of the
tournament was Mr. Ravish Singh, BCA-V Semester. Team of
BBA-III semester (Cricket).
The Director Prof. P. N. Jha offered trophies to the winning
individuals and teams in the Award distribution ceremony
held later in the evening with a word of appreciation for
the players, the referees who had been drawn from outside
SMS for the 5-day event and of course the organizers including
the Sports Coordinator of SMS, Mr Wamique Hisam, Reader.
On the occasion, Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS
and Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Registrar, SMS apart from all faculty
members were also present.
