Every year Sports Fest takes place at the grounds of School
of Management Sciences (SMS) Varanasi campus amidst great
enthusiasm and zeal. Teams representing different Under-Graduate
and Post-Graduate programs participate in the various-events
extravaganza covering sporting activities in three indoor
and three outdoor games, viz, Indoor: Chess, Carrom and
Table-Tennis, Outdoor: Cricket, Badminton and Volleyball.
The Winners after several rounds of preliminary matches,
quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals of different classes
at undergraduate and postgraduate level are recognized and
appreciated for their efforts.
The Director Prof. P. N. Jha provides trophies to the winning
individuals and teams in the Award distribution ceremony,
which take place in the evening hours of last day of Sports
Fest. Referees, who are drawn from outside Institute facilitates
the activities. Coordinator of Event is Mohd. Wamique Hisam,
Reader (Sports Coordinator) of SMS Varanasi organizes and
inspects the insight of preparation along with team members
of Sports Cell & Volunteer students. On the occasion,
Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS and Mr. Sanjay
Gupta, Registrar, SMS apart from all senior faculty members
used to be present for motivation of students, faculty and
staff members.
