Time Management in College Life

When you come in a college you realize that the timings are more as compared to the school life which by the way also becomes a reason to miss your school life. College life is like 09:00 am to 04:15 pm, its like 7 and a half hours, though its not that much as compare to the school life, but 7 and a half hours and also going to home and coming to home takes like 45 minutes each for me, but lets take them both as half hour each, So 8 and a half hour for college out of 24 hours, and 6 to 8 hours of sleep is necessary, so 16 and a half hour out of which only 8 hours left in which we need to eat, bath, and do self study, and boom forgot the biggest thing, doing house work. Now, when you hit the college life, college hits you real bad, if you live in a PG, fair enough. As to you don’t have to bring groceries, help in household stuff, and more over don’t get distracted at the time of studies. So when it comes to time management, every kid thinks of making up a time table, yeah exactly but then they think over it and realize that its stupidity and only school kids do that but later on they do make a time table, which they follow the next day completely and day after that - that particular time table does not exist. When you enter the college gates, at first you are really dedicated and have this amazing agenda to work hard, study hard, score well, and get a job to reach your goals and make your parents proud of you. From day one, you be all studious, you think about - "as I get my books I will start studying really hard" though thats not what happens. Till some time you stay dedicated but after a while as you realize that there is a boring lecture then you start to bunk it and due to which you bunk the rest of the lectures which are after that. And this is how the road of distraction begins. A time comes when you dont even realize that you are not attending the classes, you are not studying at home, you are just living in the moments though which you still can by studying side by side. And a time comes when a ping in the phone makes you run towards it and then the scrolling of feed on Instagram begins. After spending a lot of money on food and beverages, and missing a lot of lectures and also when you come to hear that one of the students parents got a call that he or she did not attended the college from a long time, you start worrying. (Let me  explain you the calling thing - the college picks 5-6 random students from every class and call there parents to tell them that there child should come to college regularly. How do I know this? well I know this because I realized few days back, when my friends parents got the same call, though she had took just three holidays but on the other hand there were students who werent coming at all) So you see as the  fear of call arrives, and the realization that you have  spent a lot  of time hovering around and spending money on food and beverages, you start taking college life seriously. Cause thats when it hits you that your college has a rule  called 75% attendance necessary. Then is the time you start coming to college on daily basis, and start studying regularly, but due to the timings you are unable to pick the correct self study timings and which is why you think of managing time according to your day to day or daily schedule. But then the question arrives is how to manage and work accordingly? through time table? no cause you think its dumb idea but you end up in making a time table and start following it but completely unfollows it after the third day. So this is life. You want to study, but you cant, you have this zeal and passion all of a sudden regarding books as no time is left for the semester exams. So you start studying in the college library in the free lecture, you start going to libraries after college, and study in mid night when everyone is sleepy so that you can concentrate and give your 100% to studies but then a ping in your phone and BAAAMMM! you are gone. If you are finding difficulties regarding when you should do self study, then I have heard this a lot that the best time to study is 4 am to 6 am but the problem is whos gonna  wake up so early? isnt it? ya its true but if you want to score well in exams you gotta get up in the morning. There are many other things that I heard like one should drink coffee before studying though some people actually get sleepy after coffee. I have also heard that bath before you study, you will be all fresh minded, but in my case I did rather sleep after a bath. So you see these kind of myths or things work for some people only. For some they actually work and for some it turns them totally upside down. So preferring something in which you best fit in would be the right way. You need to take out time for yourself, if you want to score well in semester exams you gotta study, and for that you have to take out time from your busy schedule. Its all in your hands, how you figure out your situation or re - arrange the other things so that you could study hard easily. Just pick a time when you feel the most comfortable to study and there you are. Time management is difficult in college due to the long lectures, but you have to figure it out when you have to do the self study for your career. You can study in early morning, or in mid - night, or with the help of YouTube so that you get a push and then you finally open your book and find interest in studies, etc. You cannot study in stress, you keep your mind fresh and study accordingly. Plus in everyones life, there is a time when you really wish to study and it does comes everyday though we just ignore it and use our cell phone but if we really study at that time, we could really nail in the exams so dont let that time go away, as you feel like you want to study, just grab your book and start studying hard. According to me, time management in college is difficult but a time  comes when you make a time table yourself and follow it just like we know we have to  eat breakfast in morning, lunch in afternoon, and dinner at night, a time  comes when we know that this is the correct time when one should study. All you can do is as you get back from college, take a small nap, put an alarm on your cell and as you wake up drink tea or coffee whichever is your  favorite and start studying. And for those who says that if I once slept I a not gonna wake up till next two to three hours, then dude you dont take a nap instead do something that makes your mind fresh so that you could study easily. This is how you manage time in college. Because the truth is a time comes when you get in habit of a particular routine so you just go with the flow.
